Dinky Dancers (Monday mornings)
On Mondays, Active Creative Group bring to you a programme combining an exciting mix of dance activities, P.E. and musical fun to develop children’s creativity and physicality. Each week, children are taken on a new adventure that they will love, physically exploring pre-school themes such as Amazing Animals, At The Circus and Up, Up and Away.
Basic movement actions will be introduced throughout the term through dance and action activities. Skills and movement actions are introduced in appropriate, achievable, fun stages. Action games using multi-sensory equipment completes the weekly fun. Our ‘Dinky Dancers’ learn through well-planned play, building creative and physical confidence.
We are confident that children really enjoy our mix of activities, fostering a life-long love of physical, creative movement.
Drama Club - (Wednesday Afternoons)
By the creators of Dinky Dancers we bring you Active Creative's Performing Arts Club. This specialised company have joined up with the Bo-Peep Team to create a bespoke program just for us. It offers a wonderful combination of drama, dance, singing and art. "The success of The Performing Arts Club has always been in our combination of thematically based classes, taught to a high standard, within a friendly and encouraging environment. By introducing children to the four different art forms with a creative, performance based focus we provide an opportunity for them to develop creatively, physically, musically and socially." they say.
This half term the theme is 'We're going on a Bear Hunt' and a small play will be showcased at the end of the half term.
French (Thursday Mornings)
On Thursdays, we offer French, taught by a visiting external French teacher. This allows the children to learn through fun and enjoyment in a relaxed atmosphere. We encourage the children to participate in action songs. They learn colours, how to count, parts of the body, days of the week and various simple phrases. Throughout the session, there is emphasise on movement and on the children taking part.
ICT (Thursday Mornings)
ICT is embedded in our everyday learning however we hold a discrete ICT session for those children who want to take part. Each week they will be exploring a new software where they are guided through an activity related to the classroom learning. During this actvity they will learn ICT skills for instance, turning the laptops on and off, acquiring basic knowledge of the keyboard, gaining mouse control and understanding single and double clicks. Of course indirectly they will be improving their communication and language skills and problem solving skills but also will be strenthening various learning habits such as independence, perserverance, resiliance and of course confidence.
